The Alchemist
3:02 AM | Sunday, July 29, 2007

finally, i've read the book. ^_____^

The Alchemist
by Paulo Coelho

A tale of a young boy pursuing his Personal Legend and as he is on the process of achieving his dream, he encounters situations that would make him want to turn his back on his dream: growing up with the idea that it is impossible to reach his dream, the fear of hurting those around us by abandoning them in order to pursue a dream, the fear of failure, and the feeling that we do not deserve to get what we want. But as he journeys through the deserts, he meets a lot of people that teaches him life lessons one way or another. He then learns to talk to his heart and realize the things he really want.

For me, the book tells its readers to learn to talk to our hearts too and realize what we truly want. And when we realize what we want, we must do our best to achieve it and be brave enough to face the trials that are set to test our courage and strong desire to reach that dream.

"When You want something, all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it"

a really lovely book. i highly recommend this book to everyone. ;)

one memorable week
12:39 PM | Saturday, July 28, 2007

a lot had happened this week.

i finally finally finally read this book:
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom it is! :)
a really inspiring book that talks about life. i love Morrie's outlook in life and while reading this book, every page taught me a life lesson. if it was just my book, i'd have highlighted a quotation on every page on that book. but my favorite line from it would be: "Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live" i highly recommend this book. such a marvelous eye opener. :)

We had our recollection yesterday (Thursday, July 26, 2007). frankly, i was really not interested with the recollection since it is too soon. we usually have our reco on the 3rd month of school and by then, we know more about each other. when i arrived at school, i was welcomed by a lot of palancas! aww,i'm touched because i really didn't ask anyone to make me one since as i said, i was not interested with the reco. i ddin't even make palancas for them because what's the point? i'll just be writing things i don't mean. but, that reco was the best reco i've had. a lot of us really cried during our session. it was a mixture of cry-laugh-dance session. i love it. :) our facilitator would make us cry at one point and the next thing you know, we're dancing the "Wawa" song like crazy. even our priest got into his dancing shoes. :P and, during snacks time, we got chased by dogs. XD crazzzzy!

US! :)
try to find me.

This afternoon, me, Jamela and YenYen saw Bamboo at Penshoppe. With the band's guitarist-Aira. both were oozing with hotness. :p we really had to squeeze into the crowd just to get a glimpse of them. :p

and.. i'm currently reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I love National Bookstore. If you want to have a copy of classic novels, now is the best time to go grab your copy because National Bookstore really has a lot of stocks now. the moment i saw the rack with a lot of Paulo Coelho's books, i wanted to bring the whole rack with me. ^___^ there were also Mitch Albom's books and some other authors.

PS: this whole week, i really wasn't feeling good. :( my stomach keeps aching every once in a while the whole week. bohoo. :(

i have finally seen Transformers and the effects--wooh! out of the world. visual effects were amazing especially the 'transforming' effects. two thumbs up. i loooove Optimus Prime and Bumblebee ♥.

the dryness of my throat bugs me. yea, from all the screaming from A Walk in the Clouds this afternoon to the screaming from Transformers tonight, who wouldn't get their throats dried up? :p the talk we had with Sister Letty this afternoon about the logic of Human Sexuality really made me learn a whole lot of stuffs. i really would want to share everything she talked about but i can't organize my brain right now. haha.

HP and the Deathly Hallows-- i really didn't want to spoil myself but it was so tempting. haha. so, Denise told me *temptation* my (well actually, our.. mine and Jhana's) guess on R.A.B. was correct!! it really is Regalus Black. ^___^ Kreacher has a role on Deathly Hallows, concerning the Horcrux (specifically, the pendant) and Regalus. And, the Trio! ohh yes, still a trio. no one died from the trio. (ron+hermoine ♥? :p)

that's it for tonight. goodnight everyone. :)

its out!
8:59 AM |

it is! it is! well, it was released lat Saturaday (yesterday). i didn't get a copy because still, i have not enough money yet and i collect paperbacks only. well, an ex-classmate of mine was kind enough to lend me her copy after she reads it (you just don't know how much i love you at this point, Ms Denise Roxanne Mansueto Nabong) haha. oh yea, in a week or two, i'll know what's gonna happen with Harry. yeiiy. oh, and anyone got their guesses on R.A.B.? i do, it's Regalus A? (second name or middle name or something A) Black for me. Sirius' brother who was a Death Eater and tried to back out from the Death Eaters and escape them but, he was still killed by idk, its either one of the Death Eaters or Voldy himself. the idea just popped into my head last night when i finished re-reading the Half Blood Prince. he's the only R.A?B. i know.

anyway, its Monday tomorrow and all we have to do at school is sit at our little theater and listen to a Daughter of Charity the whole day! oh yea! >___<

Deathly Hallows leakage
9:01 PM | Wednesday, July 18, 2007

this are the photos circulating on the net of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Book. :( i don't know if this is the real deal but it really looks real. :( why cant people just wait for the book instead of getting one for themselves ahead of everyone else? and why do they have to spoil everything? >:( i really want to get a copy but its too expensive for me. i'm still saving. ^___^

Insights on HP5
9:02 AM | Sunday, July 15, 2007

*read at your own risk. spoilers ahead.

OKEY. i've finally seen Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix today. i find it okey but not impressive. amazing but still sucks. the book was way better. here are my observations of the movie:

>the first scene was really nice. because usually, the HP movies' first scenes usually are night times. its refreshing to see a new side of HP. the daylight it is.

>the Howler for Aunt Petunia was nowhere to be seen. i find that it was really essential to the plot making the people understand why Harry has to stay with the Dursley's.

>the Grimmauld's place to Department of Mistery scenes were too fastforward. well. okey.. those scenes were not really necessary. fine.

>Hermoine and Ron as PREFECTS. wth? it was not even shown in the movie.

>Kreacher. it would be better of Kreacher's self talks were more audible. i wanted Kreacher. haha. i love his.. idiocity. [is there such a word? :p]

>Sirius. honestly, the movie goers didn't feel the pain the readers felt when Sirius died. for them, it was like, 'ookey, he died. then?' but to us readers, it was like, 'whaaat? how could that bi*tch do that?' because the books showed us the bond they Harry and Sirius had, how important Sirius was to Harry, how he needed Sirius, how happy he is when he is with Sirius. nadah. i cried more when i was reading the book than when i saw Sirius getting sucked in that gray smoke or whatever it was.

>the Longbottoms. seriously, Neville has a role on HP5. i was disappointed when there were no St. Mungo's Hospital scenes but even more disappointed to the fact that the movie didn't point out the importance of Neville's character on the possibility that he would have been the Boy Who Lived and how the title could have been Neville Longbottom and the Order of the Phoenix. i wish they could've showed Neville's role to the deeper perspective.

>Room of Requirements. i was really excited to see how it looked like with all the information books on DADA, the spy gadgets it was supposed to have. i imagined it to be like the room of Moody in HP4, only larger but all that was there was a big space and a mirror posted with papers and pictures of the Order of the Phoenix members and Cedric Driggory. wth? but it was really funny watching Filtch waiting outside the ROR. haha.

>Trelawney and Firenze, okey, Trelawney was seen fired but where's Firenze?

>Umbridge's Observation Periods, way too fast.

>'Weasley is Our King.. he lets the Quaffle in..' i wanted to know the tune :(

>Fred and George! ooooh. the twins! i has tons of fun reading their antics on the book and the SWAMP from the book! i wanted to see that! c'mon.. what the heck was that? Fred and George on broomsticks and lighting fireworks. i expected more chaos than that!

>it was Marrieta who revealed the DA not Cho. but its okey. at least there's a better reason for Harry to hate Cho. :p and where are the DA coins? the one Hermoine made for them to let the members know the date and time of the next meetings? no sign of it.

>i liked the scene when DA members got punished and them ignoring Cho. lovvit.

>Occulumency and Snape. Occulumency-too fast. Snape-was not emphasized that Snape was on Dumbledore's side..

>GRAWP! OMG, i loved his scenes. haha. it was really funny seeing Grawp fancying Hermoine and how Ron gets jealous. haha.

>Luna Lovegood. At first i was 'OMG, she's too pretty to be Luna Lovegood' but she really portrayed the role well with the voice. haha.

>the Quibbler. would've been better if the interview with Rita Skeeter and banning the Quibbler was showed. it would emphasize Harry's struggles being named a liar.

>Department of Mysteries. no rotating room was seen. i want to see the rotating room. :p and didn't the book say the fountain statues moved?

>Dumbledore and Harry scenes at the near end. the one with Harry expressing his pain and anger on Sirius death? i really felt the strong emotion on that scene when i was reading the book but, again, no sign of it.

>"..but we have to admit, Dumbledore has style" :p the scene with Dumbledore escaping with Fawkes was superb!
-----------------

but objectively, the movie was amazing. i understand why certain scenes weren't showed.. if everything from the book was showed, it would take us a day or two to finish the movie. so, if you want to realy get amazed by the movie, watch the movie first before reading so you'll be amazed and be more amazed when you read the book. OK? :P

ps: these are all my opinion. if you have any violent reactions to it, then go ahead post it but keep in mind that Freedom of Speech exists. let's all respect everyone's opinion. :)

STUPEFY!

ADDITIONAL on Sir Assuming (thanks to pamoii for reliving the moments. :p)
>he once told the class to 'SHUT UP' when what he meant was 'STAND UP' :p
>we we're talking about oceans (i guess) and he started to write 'Vasin' on th board when what he meant was 'basin'. and,the class argued against him because he keeps on telling us it really is spelled 'vasin'. hello? i doubt he already met mr. dictionary. :p

i've moved! oh yes i have. i have officially moved in to my blogger. yeeey. yes, from now on, this would be my official blog. this is where i will post my entries. :) but not to worry, i won't be deleting my multiply account. i'd still be posting pictures, music, and videos there. but my entries are posted here. don't ask me why. why? well, its because (:p) i feel the 'blogging' ambiance (what? haha) here than there in multiply. XD

i've actually made this site a month ago? but i didn't launch (again, what?) this yet because i was trying to figure out how things work here. and with me and my lazy ass, it took a month for me to learn how things are in here. haha. i know i'm lazy okey? try not to rub it in. :p

well, there it is folks. and oh, BTW, i'd be posting entries from my Muliply here. some entries that i feel should be posted here. okey okey. all done. enough said. goodnight folks. :)
