Reach for the stars.. so if you fall short, you land in the clouds.
you're seeing the future, baby
10:58 PM | Wednesday, April 30, 2008

okey, so today at Idol, we learn that either Paula has the ability to see the future or that she possesses the attention span of a rabbit. tonight was totally Paula's Night of Shame. laugh and die.

Pick of the Week - NONE.
reason: no performance really stuck into my mind after my first view. i partly blame the people who started the idea of letting them sing two songs this week. jesus christ, everything was like on fast forward. wth? it gave a total of 10 songs.. and like duh? top 10 even had 2 hours air time, right? and you think having the judges say what they wanna say right after everyone sung can save you enough time, well, maybe.. but it fucking confused everyone else. if you suckers really wanted them to sing two songs tonight, you should've at least extended the air time to like 1 hour and 30 minutes or something. right on, geniuses. and i partly blame the contestants for serving us mediocre entertainment.

so let's get on with it.

-----------------------------
SIDE A - (the side where they decided to fast forward the entire thing)

Jason Castro - "Forever In Blue Jeans"
i really like Jason. and the way he sings. this one was okey for me. he was off key in few of the notes, but in totality, it was O-key.

David Cook - "I'm Alive"
screechy.

Brooke White - "I'm A Believer"
if song murder is a crime, she could be sued for what she did. and she looked so stupid with the batty eyes and wobbly head. her head and facial expressions remind me of London Tipton when she's all stupid and dumb.

David Archuleta - "Sweet Caroline"
it's nice he chose an upbeat song. so far, it's one of the performances that i can vaguely remember. well, that's better than the rest of the performances that went dirctly to recycle bin.

Syesha Mercado - "Hello Again"
it was in this song that i realized that i liked her lower voice better than the high and shouty one

--------------------------------
SIDE B

Jason Castro - "September Morn"
side a performance was better than this one

David Cook - "All I Really Need Is You"
one of the performances that i can also vaguely remember. it was better than side a performance for me.

Brooke White - "I Am.. I Said"
lyrics on her hand - LOL. she was running out of breath on the first verse. i kinda liked the bridge. and then i went all screechy on the chorus

David Archuleta - "America" (i was about to type David Castro. wtfh is that? lmao)
two upbeat songs for tonight. nice. he does listen to what other people are trying to tell him.. that we are sick of ballads. yea, i can remember parts of this one.. especially the part where he lost a note and his face was all like, "oh shoot" lol

Syesha Mercado - "Thank Lord for the Nighttime"
fun side of Syesha :)
-------------------------------

Additional Notes:
* Shame on Paula
* ew Simon's chest hair
* i love Neil Diamond's calmness.
* the stage lights amazed me more than the performances. i could remember most of the lightings they used than what the hell the singers sounded like

Pick of the Week
10:54 PM | Wednesday, April 23, 2008

MY PICK OF THE WEEK:
Music of the Night - David Cook

since there are 6 left, im gonna review each performance. it's not that much of a hassle anymore since they're not that many left. i might start doing this review thing, too - every week :) influenced by VFTW. lol. but im not gonna be pessimistic about their performances. i'll try to be as objective as possible. so, shall we?

-------------------------
Syesha Mercado - ""One Rock & Roll Too Many" from Starlight Express
i liked her animated side. the performance was rocking, hell yea. and i loved how she went down from standing on the piano, classy. and i hafta agree, she was sexy. and there was another perk to the performance: we saw Ricky Minor's moves. ha ha.

Jason Castro - "Memories" from Cats
memories.. all alone in the moonlight. haha. i was laughing myself out when he said "i didn't even know a cat sang this song" me too, Jason, me too. MEOW. hahaha. it's amazing how he dorkily admits his ignorance. haha. the song was pretty fine. weak vocals, i must admit but there's just something in the way Jason sings that lures me to liking the performance. but in totality, i have to say, this song was one of the weakest ones from all the performances.

Brooke White - "You Must Love Me" from Evita
she did sing the song pretty well - don't react, im not yet finished - when she sang it in front of Andrew Webber. yes. but the performance was such a wreck. she started the first line and forgot the words so she quickly turns to Ricky Minor and says "im sorry.. can we?" and starts the song again from the top. after that, i didn't bother to listen anymore. even my mother commented, "i don't like her interpretation". she was probably distracted and nervous due to that restart shebang. haha, another funny moment, Paula took around, 1 minute and 3o seconds to come up with something good to say to Brooke. the silence was deafening.

David Archuleta - "Think of Me" from Phantom of the Opera
i thought the song was pretty, hmm, okey but forgettable at first (yes, i was with Simon) until i heard the original version of the song. wow, it was indeed transformed into a contemporary love song. really nice! :) and he did the Arch Angel fansign again, awww :) we love you too, Archie.

Carly Smithson - "Jesus Christ Superstar"
i didn't want her to sing this song cause this song is pretty memorable to me. i danced to this on our school play when i was in Prep. i don't want Carly to ruin that memory. pfft. anyway, okey but shouty. and the Simon Loves Me (this week) shirt was pathetic. go to hell you attention seeking lying plant.

David Cook - "Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera
amazing. i listened to the original version, and yea, David Cook did stick to the original arrangement. i loooved it. hands down. :)
-------------

extra notes:
a) i heard Ryan sing. lol
b) and Simon at the end of the show proved to be half-moose and half-plastic. lol
c) i didn't know Andrew Lloyd Webber until today. wow. he IS a great writer! i have heard some of his popular songs and wow, HE WROTE THAT? i am now hailing him. but he sometimes scare me.
d) just a cute connection, both DavidS (that i looove) sang songs from Phantom of the Opera. and the song David A sang was sang by the 17 year old girl that the guy that sang David Cook's song was referring to in the song. both David's songs were for the people that orignally sang their songs. cool :)
e) David, David, Syesha, Carly sang the songs decently. Brooke and Jason are in trouble.

AND
i have promised Feliz that from now on, we will not be spoiling each other by looking the performance videos of the Idols on YouTube before the show airs here in the Phils. and, that on Thursdays, we shall not, by all means, try to find out who got sent home before the show airs. WE WANT TO BE THRILLED. and mostly, on May 22 (Idol Finale) we shall not try to find out who won before the show airs. as for me, it would be a No Internet day for me cause i'm sure it would be a huuuge temptation and i know that people would start to IM me or post shout outs on who won. and for everyone who knows my number, pleease don't text me who won. I WANNA BE THRILLED.

THANK YOU! :)

hail the males!
7:16 PM | Wednesday, April 16, 2008

Mariah Carey week on Ai.
and the males rocked the show!
my pick of the week are the 3 male performances, i just can't choose between the three cause they are all amazing in different ways :)

(in order of appearance)
David Archuleta - When You Believe
you can hear his voice range in here. from low to high to falsetto. lovely :) he is just an amazing singer. plus, he was just on shirt and he gave the Arch Angel fansign (right hand on the heart). awww, David. we love you too :)

David Cook - You Will Always Be My Baby
i was hell amazed. it was like a different song. its so different from the original one but just as brilliant. maybe more, even. wow. yea, if i were Mariah i'd be super proud to know that my song could turn out this way. nice. wow :)

Jason Castro - I Don't Wanna Cry
so i was texting Feliz gushing about David Cook and all. when Jason started singing. i really had to put down my tiara (i was wearing a big tiara that time haha) and phone. it was like, the world stopped for me. god, Jason. he sang the song with such genuine emotion. he connected with the song and i really could see it. wow. and the thing with Jason, he has his own thing with his voice. so distinctive. and despite the various faces he manages to pull while singing, you still can't stop listening to him. and top it with his piercing eyes. ohlooo. cherry on top of the vanilla ice cream fuck up Randy. i'd join the luau with Paula and Simon too. >:P

the males are rockin!
and oh, lol. tonight was funny. hahaha
"it was like ordering a hamburger and only getting the bun"
we even got to see Ramiele in the audience. hahaha. :)

_____

ps: i shall write about the memorable weekend i had. maybe tomorrow. im so not in the mood today.

bombastic Pick of the Week
2:15 PM | Thursday, April 10, 2008

i intend to do a retraction on this post
as i have posted, my pick for that week was Smoky Mountain Memories by David Archuleta. but after rewatching the show thrice, i have changed my decision.

my Pick for that Week is It's All Wrong, But It's Alright by Micheal Johns. lovely :) the last notes were just.. sexaaay. so yea. :)

this week, i have watched American Idol four times already so i am stupendously sure of my decision. the performances that stood out this week are: Angels by Archuleta, Anyway by Kristy Lee, Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Castro.

and my pick for this week is: Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Jason Castro. the version was just so.. fantastic (yes, Simon. haha) i am pretty sure i've heard that version being sung by someone (not the Israel guy.. just someone i know) and i really love that version. i agree with
Jason that the ukulele version really captured the meaning of the song :) nice. praise worthy indeed.

the songs tonight were really nice. they have wonderful meanings. the song that i really liked was Anyway. i love the meaning of the song and in fairness to Kristy Lee, she did sing it very well. and Innocent by Cook was nice. i kinda didn't get the song at first but i listened to the lyrics, it's really nice. tells you to learn to be contented of who you are and that despite everything you've been going through, one day, you'll learn to stand up and work it all out. plus, the back up singers were really good on that song! kudos kudos. but in totality, i'll rate it just - Okey :) (Randy. haha) since the first part of the song, was a little.. strange? haha. but the chorus was good. so yea. :)

i was scandalized by Paula's boobs.
so bring out the chihuahuas. hahaha

BTW, if you haven't noticed, the bolded song title of the pick of the week is a link to a youtube video incase you wanna see it. i've chosen a HQ video just for you. lol. :P

Crazy
11:02 AM | Wednesday, April 09, 2008

these days are crazy. we usually sleep at 1am. we go somewhere are arrive home at 1am. everyone's super busy for the upcoming event, the 50th golden anniversary of my grandparents. my aunts and cousins flew from New Jersey for this event. they're staying at our house so basically, the house is now crowded but it's all good. i like having people around. they even brought us some neat stuff (thanks, Mommy Lynne and Auntie Chita for that :) the event's on Saturday (April 12). i wanna get on with it so i can already hit the beach since i am not allowed to go to the beach "coz i might get dark and we don't want that for the wedding" oh c'mon. i wanna feel the summer heat now. c'mon! psssh.

now, what's really frustrating me is that the Internet just sucks here. what's wrong with you Globelines Broadband? we pay 999php every month for this but your services suck. this is a rip off. sucks :(

oh well, American Idol is on tonight. at least something to brighten my spirit up
and yea, i've been wanting to buy a memory card but the lines in CD-R King is always long and i'm not the patient type of person.
got my report card (or report paper) yesterday. half of my subject grades decreased but i still got an okey final average, so whatever. i even enrolled myself yesterday with my father. first time getting involved in the enrollment process and i don't like it because there are a lot of people. i don't do well in crowds. especially when i don't know them. it irritates me for no good reason. it's just that, they just do. so blah.
i already started reading my Eclipse (Stephenie Meyer) E-Book. im in page 20 something. i dunno. im just not feeling it. i kinda want the book. but its too expensive. 500+ nearly 600php. i guess i'll just wait for the paperback copy coming out this May. yeaa.
i'm not even half way with my House Season 2 dvd. i am not feeling it anymore cause season 2 is being shown in AXN and i like watching it on late Monday evenings instead of the dvd. im weird, i am fully aware.
our house is once again filled with chocolate. mucho chocolate=sugar rush. i miss junkfoods :(
this is my first time doing a blog entry on laptop. the PC's always busy since they're finalizing the musical scores for the wedding anniv.
and im unli again in Sun so lovers, text me, alright? im always bored and reay for text sessions.
i miss hanging out with OBHP :(
so yea. boing post. just tyring to keep ou update on whats going on in my life. lol. thanks for reading.

disoriented, yes.
10:29 PM | Thursday, April 03, 2008

im too fucked up to function right now.

because this darn pc will never fail to frustrate me every now and then.
the stupid mouse double clicks even if i've just clicked it once resulting to multiple opening of programs and then resulting to a jam then the pc hangs. great. and then darn broadband's getting slower and slower. yea, this is what we get after paying them 999 a month! THANK YOU.

and then, my stupidity makes things worst. i was cleaning up the pc (i usually do that. atleast twice a month) i was deleting useless files and programs. i was deleting mIRC when i accedentally deleted Mozilla Firefox. great. just a while ago, i had to DL the thing all over again. good thing the cookies were still there. it made it easier.

anyway, my original topic for this post was actually to gosh about Ramiele. gimme a second to regain the thoughts that i have already constructed a while ago before the mayhem took place.

so yea, early this afternoon, i already read on my new favorite website, VoteForTheWorst.Com, that Ramiele was sent home. i saw that coming cause she was (sorry for this) a mediocre performer. i mean, she can be great but she really hasn't chosen a song that'll make her shine lately.. last time i saw her shine was first week, 60s theme, "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me", but Ramiele was a pretty good recording artist coz i listen to their studio versions of the songs on YouTube (i do that before i download to see if it's worth all the jam Limewire can cause - yes, that's another problem) and Ramiele's actually one of the best recording artist from their group . yea yea, so.. i was watching AI already (FYI, they show AI here 6pm, Manila time not USA so it's a delayed playback or something although they claim it's 'Live via Satellite' oh shut up, who're you kidding?) i knew Ramiele was going home but seeing her face.. and remembering her bubbly and friendly personality.. i think she saw it coming, really and it crushed her. aww. i was brought to tears when she started crying when Kristy hugged her. and during the video stuff they show when someone's going home. now, if only Danny Noriega (god, miss him) went up on stage with her too, that'd complete it. awww. it's okey Ramiele. :) it's not the end. if no one gives you a record deal or something there, you can come here in the Phils and the Philippine record companies would surely give you a lot of offers. you know how the Philippine Showbiz are suckers for a taste of Hollywood :) we still love you, Ramie.

oh and yea, every elimination night, during their opening performance, i always look for Jason. he's just so uncoordinated. haha. he dances dorkily. lol. and David Archuleta, for the first time sang without a jacket/polo over his shirt (excluding Hollywood week when he sang Heaven). lol. and i will always always look forward for the Q&A portion from the homeviewers. hahaha

that is all i have to say :)
i'm slightly fine now.
i love you, reader.

ps: to clear things up, VFTW is my fave website not because i enjoy poking fun at the contestants. i like them coz people there could come up with pretty hilarious and weird stuffs. they're funny. lol. but nevertheless, what they say will not affect how i look at the performances. but the informations from VFTW really heps. god, do they have a lot of sources *wink

i'm kinda nervous for tomorrows elimination. i wonder who's going :x

im a ninja pickle
6:04 PM | Tuesday, April 01, 2008

updates updates. i've been really lazy lately.

first up, as the usual readers could notice, i removed the videos of my AI: Pick of the Week section. lol. why? coz it looked fine in firefox but the vids really messed up the layout in IE. sucks big time. so yea. but i'll still be having that lil section in here. just w/o the vids :)

second up, this one's funny. i have made an album in Multiply that's dedicated to David Archuleta. i claim him to be mine, haha. you all know that. well thing is, two girls have been bashing me there telling me that i can't call him mine coz blah blah blah. haha. okey. i'm obsessed with David but these girls are obviously more obsessed than i am to be capable of bashing me just for David. lol. petty and pathetic. if you're interested to read our lil.. talks.. (lol), you can read it here.

third, today was a very fun day for me despite the fact that i was enjoying it alone. lol. i fixed my closet today! yeiy. uh-uh my clothes are neatly folded and im super proud of it. i've also put aside some unused clothing. for charity. hahaha.

and then, the movie marathon starts.

Step Up 2

I've re watched this movie today. i have to say, the soundtrack was pretty cool. i love Missy Elliott's tracks from this movie. Chase was okey, Andie was fine. but Moose is so lovable. lol. i mean, he's just so.. adorable. haha. the finale dance in the rain was neaaaat. especially the chest bounce or something of Andie. coolio. the 410 prank in the train (the first scene) was really nice. aaaaand. 5 mins of Channing! god, he is just beyond amazing. seeing him there completed the movie, for me. lol. but all in all, i'd still go for the fist movie because it had a better plot and storyline and it was 90 mins of Channing Tatum! oh yeaa. lol

Alvin and the Chipmunks
i've also re watched the movie today. i just love this movie. it's naturally funny and entertaining. the munks are so cute. the music is so fun. it really is one heck of an entertaining movie from start to end. :) i lovvit. and Theodore. awwww. i loove Theodore.. and the voice behind him (by the way, it's Jesse Mccartney. can you believe it? hahaha) my message alert tone is even Alvin's voice. lol. "that's it. i can't stand this anymore, i can't. i give up!" hahahaha :)

27 Dresses
this movie has just made it to my Friendster "Favorite Movies". i love the story, the plot, the dialog. the first part half, i was really pitying Jane (the protagonist). the dreamguy, the gown. but in the end, i was really envious of her wedding. it was so simple yet.. i dunno. it was so.. i can't explain. and yea, one good moment in the wedding is when the bride enters and everyone turns their heads toward her direction, take a glance at the groom. you can see a wonderful emotion in his eyes. that was from the movie :)

i'm eyeing another DVD here, Meet the Spartans. i guess i'll ba watching this tonight.
over and done!
i'm a ninja pickle!
