10 Things I Never Knew About Hongkong
6:35 PM | Saturday, April 10, 2010

1
. It is amazingly cold in Hongkong, with massive visible fog! Well maybe it was just during our stay there since it was supposedly the melting season in mainland China and it was early Spring season. But on our 3rd day, we could already feel the heat setting in.

2. Their airport is freaking ginormous! In comparison, our airport is probably just a corner in theirs. And it's as if it's shopping mall, with designer brand botiques everywhere you turn.

3. 7-11 outlets are everywhere! Every corner, every street, every road. It is EVERYWHERE.

4. Most cars you can see on the roads are luxury cars. I'm talking about BMW, Benz, Audi, Lambourghini, Mini Cooper, Ferrari. Name it, they got it.

5. The roads are mostly bridges. Even underwater tunnels that run more than 2 kilometers.

6. It's easy to navigate through the streets (I'm talking about walking - shopping). Their roads are mainly straights and predictable right turns and left turns that all lead to the main road unlike here in Cebu where roads go here and there and there that leads here.

7. They have sound effects for the Go sign and Stop signs in crossing the streets. It's actually fun having it around. Hah!

8. Subways are huuuuuge. One exit leads to a street so far from another exit. Finally was able to ride an underground train (MTR) and it's actually a lot easier and more convenient that I thought it would be.

9. Ladies' Market vendors are ruthless when it comes to bargaining!!!!

10. I now understand why many would like to just go to Hongkong ang shop. Hongkong shopping district will make you wish you were ultra mega rich and will leave you wanting moooorre. And! It really is actually cheaper there.

Align Center

Madame Tussaud's wax museum in Hong Kong. It was fun going around, all giddy and starstruked as if they were actually there for real. :>
