Reach for the stars.. so if you fall short, you land in the clouds.
In the end, everyone dies.

a fact we all have to accept. i have read this line in Death Note. as some of you might know, Death Note is a little notebook owned by a Shinigami (Death God) wherein you could write the name of a person, given that you must know the persons face, the owner of the name dies. This notebook could be passed to a human if a Shinigami drops the notebook from the Shinigami Realm to the human world. And then the story goes on. But one rule of the Death Note that caught my attention is: "All humans, without exeption, will eventually die"

yes, Death. in the Hellenistic Philosophy, there were Stoics - people who don't value their emotions. they don't care because for them, everybody dies so what's the point of being happy when you win something? or mourn if someone dies? for them, everything is meant to happen and when they are all meant to die. they are people of logic, not much with the emotions. But there were also Epicureans, people who would rejoice and live 'today' to the fullest because tomorrow might not come for them anymore. they live their days as if those are their last. so, on which bandwagon are you on?

personally, i'd be an epicurean. i value life. as my health teacher once said "its not about the range of living but giving meaning to every day of your life" yes, i have to agree. just like the stoics, i believe that everyone is meant to die but i'd like to die with a reason.

elder people who are suffering serious diseases and already know the maximum period they could stay on earth, they usually go to those bible studies and talks about spirituality meant for people like them right? you think in those sessions, they are asked to pray and believe that God will extend their life? hell no. in those sessions, they are made to realize what they can do in their remaining time on earth. they are encouraged to make their remaining days fruitful intead of sitting in on corner and convincing themselves that now that their dying, they have no use on earth.

so, uhuh. all i want to say is that value your life. at times when you'd want to end it, think again. you think that you've got no purpose here on earth and all that shit but you're wrong. for all you know, you're the only person thinking that way about yourself. and if you think you're misunderstood, then make them understand. you think you're just watching the world revolve around you and no one cares, look around you, there are actually people who are just there for you but being to occupied with the thought of being left out, you fail to notice them. learn to open up to other people and ask for His guidance. trust me, i've been there. :)

live your lives to the fullest people. :) try to live it with satisfaction. God has something in store for everyone. :)
