this is basically a movie in which the characters and the plot are based from songs of Beatles. when you say a musical type of movie, it's usual that the plot is made before the songs so it would fit better to the scenes. but in this movie, it's the other way around. the songs were there long way before the movie was even started.. making it a bit challenging for the writers but nevertheless, the writers of this movie came up with a very good story that showcased a lot of well-known Beatles' songs. i appreciate them more given their situation.
and so, well. i just started loving the Beatles this year. i mean, i've heard some of their classics as my father loved playing his tape of the Beatles over and over when i was younger. and then, there were also some songs that i was familiar with but i didn't know they were sang by the Beatles. American Idol pretty much introduced me to THE Beatles. i remember the two consecutive weeks in which their theme was songs from the Beatles. and i have favorites from them, and my most favorite of all is Across the Universe. yea, no lie. Across the Universe for me is a song i listen to whenever i get confused with life and all that cause it just reminds me that everything's going to be okey and nothing can change my world. uhuh. and having my most favorite Beatles song as the title of the movie, pumped me up a bit more. haha.
the movie, obviously advocated the end of wars and showed the lives that war can damage. the characters were so unique from each other. and they all magically make one hell of a good ensemble of characters in the movie. yes. and the scenes in the movie were always full of colors.. there never was a dull scene. it's just all too lovely.
my favorite song that was interpreted in the movie however, was Let It Be sang by a black child in the middle of the Vietnamese war. it was just so pure, so filled with emotion that i couldn't keep myself from tearing up. now when i was watching that part, i instantly remembered seeing this short clip of him sitting behind a wrecked car in the middle of war being showed at one episode of Ellen Degeneres Show. it was just too beautiful.
and so yea, the movie also had some songs i liked, like If I Fell, Strawberry Fields Forever, Come Together.. i also enjoyed the I am a Walrus part. haha.
and yea, i am officially loving Jim Sturgess. from 21 to this. yes, i do love him and his movies.
so that's it.. you should watch this movie, especially those who love the Beatles. (:
