THIS FINALLY IS MY BIRTHDAY BLOG. After more than a month of procrastinating. Yezzz. I felt I really needed to put this up for the benefit of my future self. It's only once that I turn eighteen and legal, anyway. =)
DEAR FUTURE SELF,
So, remember you said once that when you turned eighteen, all you want to do is go scuba diving? That never happened. Instead,
this happened.
You were planning to have kiddie party on maybe Jollibee, or McDo for your birthday party to signify the last moments of you being free to act like a child as you are turning legal - but due to debut dates of two other friends (One on Nov13 and Nov14) that took your planned dates, you decided not to push through with it. You decided to let them have the date cause 1) They had their formal (I mean the gown, program, 18candles, roses, treasures type) debut planned for months already 2) Your friends from different corners of your circle of friends were attending either one of the debuts 3) You just didn't want to compete.
So instead, you settled with a small gathering of your closest friends at your home for lunch. Then, since it's a double celebration with your father's 50th birthday, you'd have your relatives for dinner.
November 13 came and you were attending a very grand debut of your highschool friend. Luckily, your two bestfriendsforlife (BFFL aka Team Awesome) were also there, too. All of you (along with your other close college friends) decided to '
sugat' your birthday at 12 midnight since you were already out, anyway. All you thought was you'd buy them some midnight snacks and maybe some liquor to celebrate. But you were wrong.
You were with Feliz, Karen and Teep in IT Park. They put on a show where in Mary an got freaking nowhere to be found with an empty phone battery. Then you met up with Teep's boyfriend, Justien in Jollibee. You decided to walk from Jollibee, to Tandoori when a taxi cab kept following and honking at you. It was Mary an who decided to let all 7 of you ride the taxi cab (imagine your horror) - at the same time mumbling about the most censored topic that can make your friend, Mary an crazy. Teep&Justien left the group, since Teep 'had to meet up with a cousin'. You reached Tandoori feeling confused with everything, and then laughing at Mary an's usual crazy self. Then,

Being the ninja that you usually are, you were impressed that you didn't even get a single hint of a clue that they were even planning it, despite the lots of times they thought they slipped on some conversations about this. I guess you just didn't think that you were someone somebody else would care about to plan a surprise for. Evidently, you were wrong. And in those moments, you were reassured that you were loved and thought of, and that you have some awesome bunch of friends. And because of that,

You were that happy at 1:54 am of November 14, 2010. =) I can't thank you guys: Feliz Maristel Ynclino, Karen Melissa Ros, Mary Anne Cel Tacbobo, Therese Joy Pedrera, Leabelle Tropezado, and Justien Sabando; enough for making that possible. You are truly super friends.
On November 21, 2010 - you celebrated your birthday at your home with friends. You actually invited a lot but loads of them didn't come since it was a Sunday, and God-knows for whatever else reasons. But you were happy. You had food, lots of food - your friends even complimented on your menu choices. Hahaha Some karaoke, beer for the guys, games, pictures and catching up, lots and lots and lots of catching up.
Then by night, you were with your relatives. It rained so everybody stayed inside. You were particularly drained from all the crazyness that happened on the afternoon so you stayed inside with your cousins in your room. Well, what can you say - the four of you together is enough to make craziness happen for itself.
In the end, you were genuinely happy. You don't get what the fuss with turning eighteen is about, but I guess it demands you to be more responsible. You can't thank God, enough for blessing you with eighteen happy years. Although your life isn't perfect, you embrace and love every single part of it.
You wished that by eighty, you'd still be as happy.
Keep living life. Keep smiling.
Love,Your eighteen years (and one month) old self.
